AETNA – All Rothfeld Center practitioners are out-of-network providers for Aetna. Payment is required for your first visit; we will also bill to Aetna on your behalf. All follow-up visits are simply billed to Aetna.

Blue Cross/Blue Shield – Drs. Arora, LaCava, and Chernack are BCBS providers. Nurse Practitioner Beth Galan is a BCBS provider. Dr. Rothfeld is not a BCBS provider.

Cigna - All Rothfeld Center practitioners are out-of-network providers for Cigna. Payment is required for your first visit; we will also bill to Cigna on your behalf. All follow-up visits are simply billed to Cigna.

Federal BCBS – All Rothfeld Center practitioners, including Dr. Rothfeld, are providers for Federal BC/BS.

GIC – All Rothfeld Center practitioners are providers for GIC.

Medicare – Dr. Rothfeld has opted out of Medicare, and Medicare will not reimburse for his visits. In compliance with federal legal guidelines, Medicare patients who see Dr. Rothfeld must sign a waiver stating they will not submit any claims for his services to Medicare. 

 Beth Galan NP-C, Dr. Arora, Dr. LaCava, and Dr. Chernack are Medicare providers. Medicare does not cover acupuncture, vitamin infusions, or chelation. You will be expected to pay for these services at the time that they are rendered. Medicare pays for most laboratory tests, but some specialty nutrient tests might not be covered.

United Healthcare: All Rothfeld Center practitioners are out-of-network providers for United. Payment is required for your first visit; we will also bill to United on your behalf. All follow-up visits are simply billed to United.

The Rothfeld Center does NOT bill to Tufts, Harvard Pilgrim, MassHealth, Fallon, Commonswealth Care, or Neighborhood Healthplan.

Insurance coverage for other services

Acupuncture benefits are available with some insurance; call your insurance if you think this may be the case. Otherwise, acupuncture is not a covered service. Other services such as nutrient infusions or chelation are not covered. Nutritional and herbal products are generally not covered under pharmacy benefits.
